Running Around London

Monday we spent a very fun day around London. We did a whole bunch of things. A Tour of the Tower of London, walking on Tower Bridge and Westminster bridge, A tour of the Imperial War musuem, A ride on the London Eye and a walk around Big Ben and the Houses of Parliment and a very yummy fish n chips luncheon at a nice place on the edge of Tower Bridge. It was a long day but we enjoyed every min of it. Here are some pictures of the different things we did.
My boss lady at work asked me to take a picture of a scottsman in a kilt if i saw one!!!! I didnt think for a min i would see one, this one ended up being tons better, he was also playing the bag pipes. He was playing on westminster bridge. She really wanted me to bring one back if i saw one, i had told her that might be kinda hard so she had settled for a picture. Im glad i got one for her, lol. She had given me a raise the day before i left, i didnt want her to take it back. lol.
The London Eye, it was amazing going on it, you could see all of London. It was light when we first went on but it got dark during the ride and all the lights came on everywhere, so we got the best of both. It was at the top of this that lee surprised Carole back in 2006 by getting down on his knee and asking her to marry him, a ring in hand. She had no idea he had that planned. lol. Luckily she said yes.
Cory on Westminster Bridge by Big Ben.
Theres Cory and i walking on westminster bridge.

Tower of London.
This tour was really amazing. It not only show the amour but also a picture of the king that once worn it and a story about them. Loved every min of it.

We also saw the crown jewels, that was very cool.

For some reason in america they call this London Bridge. I have never figured out why!!! It is Tower Bridge. London Bridge is next to it but is flat and not like this one by any means.

From the London Eye, Big Ben and Westminister Bridge.
Buckingham Palace from the London Eye in the distant.

I hate highs, it makes me feel like im falling so i have to stay away from the edge or i feel very sick.

Imperial War Musuem. It was a very cool tour also. Seeing the area about what happened to the Jews was very very sad as they had real pictures. Seeing the little kids and the way they were treated breaks your heart.

Back at Tower of London.

It was huge. It was a city inside a city.

It was a wonderful day. Its hard to beleive that back in 1976 i worked in the office building that overlooked London Bridge and Tower Bridge and used to watch everyone walking the bridges to work everyday. I used to sit right by the Tower of London and eat my lunch. Took all the wonderful sites for granted and never really took in how awesome they all were. Hard to beleive i was once part of this busy life along the Thames. Really enjoyed it as a tourist and cant wait for another day in London in a few days.
This was taken from Tower Bridge. In the distant you can see the London Bridge. On the right you can see a blue building and then a white building next to it. Thats where i had my first job when i left school at 16 (the age you do in england). I had a great view from my window. It was Lloyds Bank Overseas Dept. It is still there.
