We have never had bad experiences traveling with delays and such. Everything has always gone smooth. I know other people have horror stories with airlines and airports but we really didnt. Well coming home this time was certainly interesting. We left Steves house about five hours before our flight due to there bad traffic jams etc that they always have on there motorways over there. We got to the airport okay and got everything checked in and awaited our flight. It was on time so all was good. We get on and its starting to go and WHAM a little old man looking like in his 70s starts having chest pains and problems. They call out for medical help on board and a lady sitting by us is a doctor so she rushes to help. They work on him and reopen all the doors to allow medical help to come on board. (so lucky we had not taken off already). It took about an hour to get him stable enough to take him by ambualance to the hospital. Then they had to open all the cargo doors to find his luggage which took awhile. Then after a hour or so weve ready to leave again. Everything is reclosed and weve ready to go. BUT no, then a passagner starts acting crazy and picking fights with people around him or something. The crew try to calm him down and on it went for about 30 mins. Finally the capt comes out and tells him.
Your off buddy!!!! And off he gets with security. Then of course we have to do the whole cargo thing again and they reopen that and find his dumb luggage. But that wasnt over, then we had to wait for a couple of standby people to board to get the now two empty seats. So almost three hours after we get on the plane we take off. The flight till Chicago was very long with the three hours added but it went okay. We get above Chicago and we run into more problems. They are having terrible thunderstorms and heavy rain so no one can land or take off. We circle around the area for over an hour and a half and finally we landed. Cory loved the landing as it seemed we were in some kind of fighter jet with all the lightening flashing and us bumping around trying to land. lol. But we get down. Then we go though immigrations and because no one had landed for awhile there was an hour wait for us citizens and like over two hours or more for visitors. Just insane. It took us over two hours to get off that plane and to the gate of the next flight and we are citizens. It made Atlanta look like a piece of cake. Never again will i go though chicago as its just nuts and insane. We get to our gate like two hours after our flight is suppose to have left but very lucky for us it was also delayed and there it still wasnt there as it was still trying to land also. It was just crazy there with people running around, no one really knowing anything and even the overhead was telling us this.
Its in the air somewhere and it will come down sometime!!!!!!!!
It was good it was late as the next flight wasnt to the next day and we would have had an even longer trip. Finally around 1.00am it came down and we board and off we go. We land in slc and guess what? All our luggage is still in chicago!!!!!!!! Surprise!!!!! It was easy tho as they were waiting for us and knew it was. It finally got here last night and they brought it to our house which was nice. So anyway we finally get to bed at 5.15an monday morning after 25 plus hours of traveling. I was suppose to be at work and Cory school also but i got him out of school and i went into work at noon. But i didnt sleep as i had to go buy make up and supplies in order to go to work as everything i had was in my freaking luggage. lol. But anyway went to bed at 8.pm last night and had a good night sleep.
So heres my airport horror story. lol. We had a wonderful trip and yes i would do it again but this time it was a flight from hell and we was very glad to be home.
