Dad arriving and first part of road trip

Well my dad arrived a week ago last thursday june 24th, above you can see a picture of him arriving at the airport. Friday was rest day for him, well if you can call a visit from a very busy 18 month old great grandson Leland resting. lol. And saturday we went and visited with Jay and Emmalee so he could meet his new great grandson Jayson. We went straight from there to a short roadtrip. The first part inc, Farmington NM, Durrango CO, Deadhorse Point in utah and Mesa Verde in Co. Above and below are some pictures taken from the places we visited.
Heres Leland playing ball with his great grandad Bill.

Meeting Jayson for the first time. Just 13 days old.

Here is a train at the musum at Durrango CO. They still have a steam train that you can ride on. We didnt have time this trip but maybe weve go back sometime and do that.

Little Jayson with his great grandad Bill.

Jumping back to the trains again.

This was shiprock. They say its suppose to look like a ship. Truthfully! I couldnt see it myself!!!

This was at the Artex ruins in Farmington NM. They have these cool indian sites you can see walk around and in the middle they still have this temple. This is Ralph inside there.

Okay jumping to Mesa Verde CO. We really needed to spend a day here and do more tours. Another place to go back too some day.

You can still see the dewelings that the indians bulit for there homes under so many of the rocks there.

Jumping back to the Artez ruins again, heres me comming out of a line of rooms which housed at one time 500 families. The indians had to be a much smaller people then we are today.

This is dad and i at Dead Horse point. The view was amazing and it was so peaceful there.

Back to the temple at the Artez ruins. Ralph really liked this place. This is dad and i again.

Thats the outside of the temple.

The outside of the rooms we went into. They all joined on and people living on the ends had to go though everyone elses rooms as there was no other way in.

Jumping back to Durrango CO to the musem. Heres an old firetruck that Ralph though was pretty cool.

And back to the ruins, lol. Thats there rooms you can see and how they all joined together.

And this is the wonderful view from Deadhorse point again.

Dad and i comming out of the rooms which housed at one time 500 families at Artez ruins.

A buggy. Im sure glad we had an A/C car to drive in and didnt have to use one of these.
Dad in the temple.
Well these are the first few days of our road trip. Had to put the blog in two parts. After a fun few days here we then drove off to Lake Powell to spend a few days with Heather and her boyfriend Dan.
