Today Heather and Dan were planning on a trip to Antelope Island at Lake Powell where they work. They got stuck in construction on the way there and ended up gettting to the tour bus just when it was leaving, preventing them from going on the tour. Not happy campers!!! But they just heard that there was a flash flood which went though the cut just as the bus was there and right now there are people missing. They knew people on the tour but luckily they were not the ones missing. They are so so lucky they didnt make the tour bus on time. We hope they can find the missing people but we are really counting our blessings right now.In 1997 at the same place the same thing happened and 11 people were killed. Right now 5 people are still missing five hours later.
This is an add on from earlier. I just got a text from Heather and she confirmed that the five people still missing were in fact from the bus her and Dan were suppose to have gotton on this morning. The driver and four tourist. I feel sick to the stomach and really belive that she was prevented on getting on that bus this morning for a reason.
Wow... You know someone was watching over them!! I'm so glad they are OK and I hope they find the others!! That's scary!
ReplyDeleteHeather said theres no where for them to go, it hit when the tour was underground and its a cut canyon (whatever that is), she said countless people were swept away and five are still missing.
ReplyDeleteRalph just looked online and in 1997 11 people were killed with the same situation in the same place.
