Last Minerette Welcome Breakfast

Every year before drill starts for the new team the seniors that are leaving have a all nighter party at one of there homes and then at 3.00am go and drag the new team out of bed to take them to breakfast at Dennys. Of course before hand the new teams parents are pre warned and asked to leave there house unlocked. I must admit the past three years its caused me a bit of grief leaving my front door unlocked. lol. Weve also had some laughts about it. Year one Lucy was upstairs and we gave directions to the senior girl that called and all was good. We heard giggles from them all when they woke Lucy up yelling. Wake up! Your a minerette! but that was all. Year two was a little more drama. Lucy had moved downstairs to another bedroom. We gave directions but the seniors that year still went to her old bedroom. That room was empty so they started trying other rooms upstairs. Imgine there surprise and ours when they ran into our bedroom waking Ralph and I up. lol. I dont know who was more surprised!! lol. Last year and year three Lucy was back upstairs and it went just as year one had done. What we also thought was funny is how our son Cory always locked his bedroom door when he knew they were comming. lol. Well this year Lucy was part of the seniors who got to wake the new team up. Monday night she and the other seniors went to dinner, made welcome shirts for the new team and had a sleep over at Mollys home. It was a nice time for the girls to be together one last time. Then at 3.00am they were off to invade 24 homes. The rounded up the girls and then all went to Dennys for breakfast. I think its a very fun tradition but i sure wish they wouldnt do it on a school night!!!! Whats wrong with friday night? I guess thats the fun part of it maybe!!!!!!!! But anyway they all had a lot of fun and the seniors got to attend the welcome breakfast for the last time. Heres some of them in the car going out for there evening dinner the night before.
