Thanksgiving 2010

We had a wonderful thanksgiving day today. We had a very early dinner to enable our married sons and wifes to also spend half a day with there other families also. It made it so i was up to midnight last night doing pies and then up again at 2.30am to start the turkey going. But it was all worth it. All but Hayley and Aaron who of course live in Hawaii (his family flew out to do thanksgiving with them) came over to eat. Thank you also to Carole who got up way early to make her yummy pototoes and rolls and to Emmalee who brought a yummy salad. And Heather for her very yummy drinks. It was wonderful to have them all over of course and always fun to see the grandbabies. My dad also for the first time ever was here with us at thanksgiving so that made it extra special for us all. It was just a nice all round day. I really think thanksgiving is about spending time with not only the people you love but the people that you want to make wonderful memorys with. Ive never seen the point of having people treat you badly all year and then have to spend thanksgiving with, i mean it should be about treating people you love nice all year and then wanting to spend thanksgiving with them. Its just a joke otherwise. If people treat you bad all year then why would you want to spend such a special day with them anyway. lol. At least thats how i feel about it. Its a special day to be thankful for the people you care about but at the same time you need to let them know how special they are all year as well. It shouldnt just be one day a year you want to be with them and be kind or nice to them. lol. Although i would have loved to have had Hayley and Aaron with us and of course my Mum it was still a wonderful day and im very very thankful to have such a wonderful family and for my kids to have such wonderful wifes as Carole and Emmalee and for Heather and Hayley to have such wonderful boyfriends as Dan and Aaron. (at least weve sure Aaron is as wonderful as Dan, lol). Its really nice to have such a sincere family that you know will always be there for you and us them if needed. Others may try and create problems beween us but we will always rise above it. We truly can say we have a wonderful family and weve very very thankful for each and every one of them. Weve grateful also our kids were able to spend time with there other families and sorry that Dan wasnt able to see his family in MA today but hope he knows how much we love him and love having him in our family. Anyway heres some pictures. I am the random picture person so pictures often take others by surprise. lol.
There were some gifts given out today. My dad brought both the great grandboys little santa suits and gave them out today so that they can wear them to the various christmas parties this year etc and christmas day. Jayson was so excited that he just had to wear his hat today. lol. Leland it seems has a big head so Carole has to use her crafts to make it a little bigger at the bottom. My Mum also had not wanted her family to forget her at christmas (as if we could) she knew last year was her last one with us and wanted them to remember her. We came up with a christmas ornament idea and so everyone today got one of those. I will post more on that tomorrow with a picture of the ornament. So thats why theres gifts on our table today.



This looks like there a couple, lol, but its Heathers boyfriend Dan with Jays wife Emmalee and baby Jayson.
We had a picture of Hayley and Aaron (and my mum) on the table as they wasnt with us today. When we went around the table taking it in turns to say what we were thankful for, Lee didnt want Hayley not to have her say, so he hid behind her picture and tried to do a Hayley voice and said.
Im thankful for Aaron this year and for being in Hawaii for thanksgiving with the sun and not the snow!!!!! lol. Get the idea?

We had to put all our living room sofas in the family room so we could put tables up in our living room, our family just keeps getting added to every year.

Leland is getting so tall and so grown up. We got a lot of pictures of him today as he was in great form to keep us all laughing today.

Well that was our fun day. Heather and Dan stayed till late as they didnt have another family to rush to today so it was nice hanging out with them. I sure love having her live close again, so nice to have a daughter to have live close. Nothing like a mother/daughter relationship. Hopefully my dad also enjoyed the day and got to figure out what thanksgiving in the USA is about.
