GOING HOME

I am way excited, Heather and i just booked our tickets to go visit family in England next month. We leave her on July 26th and leave to come back here on Aug 5th. Im really excited to see my parents, my brother and his wife and three kids and also quite a few aunts, uncles and cousins that i havnt seen since 1986!!!!!!!! Can you belive that? I also have my good friend Jean who i was best friends with since we were tiny little girls. We stayed best friends though High School and even now talk three or four times a week via email or facebook. Even tho we used to see each other every day for twenty years before i moved out here, we truthfully never have had a cross word beween us. Really! Who can say that about anyone really. Shes leaving for spain the day after i get there but weve hoping to see each other the day i arrive. She in fact was the first person i told about my mom after ralph and my kids. She used to help me though things many years ago and nothing changes i guess. Im really looking forward to just spending time with my mum, we dont get to do that very often and im looking forward to it. I hope the chemo wont have her too sick. She wants to see Wicked and ivd love to take her. Other then wicked its just going to be a trip about family and seeing family i havnt seen in way too long. I have an aunt there that has kept every christmas letter i have sent in 25 years. I think she really needs a hug from me.

NEVER GIVE IN.

I just wanted to give a shout out at how wonderful my parents are. This is them, the picture was taken a year ago at emmalee and jays wedding. My mum as most of you know is having some health issues. On mothers day she mentioned to me that she was having like some electric shocks in her hand. I told her to call her doctor and she did and to cut a long story short, she had a brain scan which has shown that she in fact dont have lung cancer like they first thought, but in fact its brain cancer which has spread to her lung. Because of that they can no longer do the surgery to remove it from her lung as the shock would kill her. Yes it really really sucks more then i can ever put into words. Its been a very hard few days but what i want to express more is how i admire my parents. My mum is going out of her way to make sure that myself and my brother are okay with this!!!!!! The fact that she is worrying about us at a time like this makes me admire and love her even more. Ive not heard a WHY ME! from her at all. Her thoughts are to make sure we are okay and to deal with this cancer as best she can. There is no cure for it, i really really really wish there was. All that can be done is chemo to try and control it. We are very very postive and hopeful that this will work and she will be with us a few more years yet. Right now she is in excellent health and very fit. Looking at her she just dont fit the sick cancer vision you expect. She is still working out like she has done every day of her life and living life like she always has. She is way to young and beauiful to be dealing with this. But they dont come tougher then my mum and i know she is going to tough this out and fight it all the way.
Heather and i will be flying out next momth to spend ten days with her. And she still plans on comming out to see us at christmas. She has a great grandbaby she wants to meet. Im lucky that i have a great boss that has told me i can take any time i need to visit her or just to be with her. My dad also has been handling this very well and is a great strengh for her. If anyone can get though this they will. I never expected to have to be dealing with this right now, i really thought it would be another ten to fifteen years down the road. I really wish the past six weeks were all just a bad dream and i would be waking up soon. BUT now we have this fight to fight we will fight it and like the quote on the top of my blog.
NEVER GIVE IN, NEVER NEVER GIVE IN.

Update From Post Last Night.

Great news. Lucy just sprained her foot again. She has finished PT from her last sprain a few months ago but weve happy its not a break again. Two in a year is more then enough. She was wearing a wrap last night and that might have been what prevented another break. Her doctor has given her instructions to dance only all year with a foot brace on both feet. For comps she can just wear a wrap but has to be braces on both feet all year. She also has to contine doing what she was taught at PT. She only has ten more months of drill belive it or not so we really hope she can get thought this year with no more injurys. Whew what a busy past 24 hours.
Thanks to everyone for there wishes. Had so many msgs and phone calls from minerettes and there moms and friends. Great knowing so many care about her.

Opps! She did it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Poor lucys had the worse 24 hours of her life. First she woke up around 1.30am not being able to breath. We put her on her neb and gave her a treatment and today she came to the doctors i work at to be seen. He put her pretinzone to help her lungs. To cheer her up i took her to lunch, we took her car. Big mistake. The four month old battery decided to go out on us while we were eating lunch. Luckily ralph was only 30 mins away so he took the afternoon off, came down, took me back to work and then took lucy to get the battery changed. Its still running strange so hes thinking its not the battery after all. He was going to work on it this evening. But at 5.45 pm we got the dreaded call from the president of drill, telling us that we needed to come right away as lucy had had a nasty fall and was hurt. We rushed there and its her ankle yet again. The one she broke in jan and sprained in two places in march. Morgan her coach said she did a leap and came down pretty hard and rolled it. She didnt want to go to the doctors tonight as she wanted to see her foot doctor thats treated her last two problems (three if you count the sprain). He works at the office i work at, so i plan on taking her to work with me in the morning and having him take xrays and see her before the patients start rolling in. I feel really bad for her. Although this is the best time of year for any of the minerettes to have injurys if there going too, There doing the Relay for Life on the 12th june and this year it has a special meaning for her with Nanny going thought Lung cancer. She wanted to put her heart and soul into her dance that night when she danced for a Cure to end Cancer. In fact thats what she was crying about on the way home in case she cant do that now. We are keeping our fingers crossed once again that its not a break and just a sprain where its still weak from the break in jan. Updates will come tomorrow im sure!!

A Cool Award

At school this morning Bingham had a Centennial Champion Assembly. As part of the Assembly Mr Hicks got to choose to give an award to one of the sports teams. Guess what he choose the minerettes. They got the Centennial Champion Award. What an honor that was for the girls and a great end to a very sad ending with State. They know they were the best team at state but was not given the award for that even tho it was decided the other team did in fact break rules to get that award. So this has really made it up for the team. Way to go Girls! Always the best!

Who goes to Dennys at 3.00am?

Like i have said before everything that Lucy does this year with the minerettes will be for the last time. Yeserday morning they had there annual new team breakfast. How that works is the girls leaving go to the home of the 23 team members of the new year and kidnap them from there bed and take them to breakfast in there PJ. Lucy has been kidnapped now three times. Yeserday was her last time to be kidnapped. Next year she will be doing the kidnapping for the new team. The girls doing the kidnapping always call the parents of the team and let them know what day to leave there front door un locked (scary i know) and directions to there rooms. The first year lucy was upstairs, no problem, last year she was downstairs, even tho i told the girl that called me she had changed rooms the msg got forgotton and it was ralph and i last year that got woke up. lol. I think the poor girls were terrified and luckily they found lucy downstairs. This year she was back upstairs and all went well. Theres never any pictures of this event as after all what young girl wants pictures taken at 3.00 am in the morning in there PJs and no make up, lol. They go to dennys and eat breakfast, get home around 6.30am in order to do a full day at school. Yup they really do. I always wondered who ate at dennys in the middle of the night until lucy made the team, i guess now i know who does at least once a year. As there were no pictures of this event and im trying to record everything from lucys last year i thought ivd stick these pics up taken at showcase of lucy and her friend brooke. Brooke is one of the girls leaving this year which is a shame as her and lucy are great friends. The funny thing is lucy was the tallest last year at 5ft 9ins (ha i put 9ft 5in and had to change it fast, lol) and brooke was the smallest at around 5ft 1ins. Her mom took these pics and i thought they were just so cute, they were trying to show there size different. Sadly astra wasnt at the breakfast yeserday, she has been in the hospital now for a month, our prayers are with her and we hope she will recover soon. She has CF. Congrats to two of the minerettes leaving, Jill for making the crimson line at the U and to Amy for making the cougarettes at byu. And last good luck Hailee with your tryouts for the Jazz dancers, we know you can do it, your amazing.
