We started a new tradition last year with memorial day. Its always made me a little sad that it was so one sided for us. That i couldnt ever take flowers and remember my loved ones. Last year it became all the more important to find something with my mum now being one of those loved ones passed away. We came up with ballons in her fave colors. We all write msgs on them, whatever we want and then after we eat we let the balloons go. It also works out good for us as Carole and Dan also were not born here and can also write balloons to there loved ones. I know it brings me some comfort that ive done something and hopefully it did for them also. The kids did some really cute things on them this year. I didnt read most of them as i felt it was private beween them and whoever the msgs were for but i saw a few. Lucys said. This dance is for you! That brought tears to my eyes. My mum always was her biggest fan. Leannas daddy drew a funny picture of leanna on the balloon so Nanny would be able to have a picture of her, lol. Leland drew around his hand. Emmalee drew pictures of her family, the three of them. What else would Emmalee do, lol. Lee also had to lighen the mood with doing a balloon for Real to score a goal and a msg to God!!!! But we think it was that balloon that got stuck in the tree next door. Im sure the neighbours will wonder what thats about!!!!!!!!!! But it really made the day special. Ralph also went and put flowers on his mums grave that morning also. He had a hard time finding it as there wasnt a marker on it. We also had a great BBQ. One of these days weve be able to eat in the yard, its been so cold. lol. But the sun came out when we went outside to do the balloons and then rained again afterwards. Im sure she was smiling down on all of us and our crazy msgs. Heres some pictures of the day.
