25 Wonderful Years

Although our anniversary isnt till next Monday 23rd i wanted to post about my wonderful hubs and the great 25 years together we have shared. We have been though so much together and its crazy to think this amount of time has gone by already. We met at a BYU dance both of us wasnt suppose to go too. We were both living in the same apt complex in provo. I was suppose to have gone to a different dance that evening but my babysitter let me down (for Lee and Jay) so we were just hanging out at the apt when we noticed that the apt was having a dance going on. The kids were sleeping and me and my friend wondered over to see what was going on. We were only there for a few mins when Ralph and his friend came over to talk to us. He also was suppose to have gone somewhere else that night. Well we became friends and we in fact only dated one time before i had to go home to sort out legal issues with the boys and there dad. We started writing and talking on phone (before computers and texting) and we became very close. I had met him in the sept 1985 and went home end of oct 1985 and middle of nove he asked me to marry him over the phone. Yeah crazy i know! I said yes. It really seemed like the right thing to do. Well it didnt go down to well for him at home. His parents asked him to take it back!!!!!! Yeah really!! Luckily for me he didnt and he made a few trips out to visit us all. I came back out here in april 1986 and we got married six weeks later. We wanted to just go get married in vegas, lol. We really did and we have regreted that we didnt ever since. Our wedding was not a fun wedding for us, we did what everyone else wanted us to do and it was just tense. Lots of long faces im afraid, lol. And i didnt know anyone other then Ralph so certainly wasnt a nice wedding at all. But luckily the marriage itself has been totally different. We have had more then our fair trials. It took us two years after that to get permission from the London courts to bring the boys here. So lots of time was spent in london doing that. We had Heather ten months after we were married and she became my little travel buddy as i was going over there every couple of months. What may have created issues for us with a not so happy family and the many trips aboard brought us closer and i will be forever grateful for Ralph for standing by me in all issues. Im so glad he saw what no one else seemed to for whatever reasons. We got the boys, he adopted them and the years went by and we had a total of six kids. Life was always a stuggle with six kids and no money and we never really went anywhere for vacations or such. It was all work and no play for a long time. lol. But though it all we always had each other and our love for each other has always been soooo strong. We really are each others best friends forever and always. Before we knew it our kids were grown, going on missions, getting married and having babies of there own. (at least the olders). We went from having all six kids home just 6 years ago to now just having Cory. We have welcomed our new freedom and time for each other and love to travel and just hang out with each other. Although the years have been hard raising kids we are so proud of our kids and the adults they have become. Somehow in our crazy life we raised pretty darn good ones. All of them are just amazing and we are so blessed to have them all in our lifes. We love having them over and spending time with them. We didnt have much family during rasing them so its a new thing to suddenly have so many of them at family get togethers. But we love it. So here we are 25 years later! Where the time went, who knows. I really did marry my best friend. I dont know how i got so lucky to have met him, and looking back at how fast we got married its kinda nuts but for us it worked out, lol. I was only over here for ten weeks with the boys and in that time met Ralph. lol. We have never let the outside world interfer in our lifes or marriage even tho beleive me the outside world has tried in many different ways to tear us apart. Though all the trials we only became stronger together. I know nothing or anyone can ever come beween us. I am so grateful to have him in my life. And the best is yet to come! I was really lucky my babysitter let me down that night or i never would have met him. Heres to the next 25 Ralph. I love you soooo much and every day with you is truly a blessing. I cant wait to see what the next 25 years bring. Love you forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
