Happy Birthday Dad

Today is my Dads birthday and he turned 73. I just want to post a few pictures of different times of his life. Theres so many of course and so i just picked a few. I really couldnt have had a better father. He was certainly a dad as well as a father. He did so many things that dads of his generation just wouldnt do and he still contines to do them. I can remember him learning to knit when i was a little girl, because i was crying that my Barbie doll didnt have any clothes. So he learnt to knit and made her some! Yes really! I can remember during the hard times when England went to a three day week for awhile and money was hard. I needed new clothes, i had grown and he had a life time book of stamps that he had saved for ever and was very treasured by him. Well he sold it and got me the clothes i needed. I remember him sitting though long choir things at school and other events that were important to me. He never said. Oh Mum will go. He went too, even tho im sure he was pretty bored. Dads do that now but his generation didnt. He would always take the time to get on the floor and play with us and he has contined to do that with his grandchildren and now his great grandchildren. I remember a sister of law of mine back during the time Cory had his open heart surgery, surprised that my dad was outside playing basketball with Lee and Jay. And just last year he was at West Jordan park kicking a ball and playing soccer with Leland. He attends every event Lucy does while here. Even a basketball game in Dece at Dixie. He has 9 grandkids and never will you hear him say. Oh if i went to watch you, ivd have to watch 11 others!! But instead he would be like. Sure ive watch you and then ive watch all the others. He feels honored that his grandkids want him there to support them. Because of that they have a very special bond with him. But anyway he had a quite birthday today and i wish i could have been with him. Hes the best dad in the world. And i know hed contine attending and playing with his grandkids and great grandkids as long as he can.

Oh so many years ago while we were on holiday. My mum snapped this picture. Im thinking i was around three or four years old. He was only just 21 when i was born.

My parents with his parents when they were first married. Just 18 years old both of them.

I was six weeks old in this picture so they had to have been just 21, my mum turned 21 a couple of weeks before i was born and my dad a couple of months before i was born.
