Well as i had mentioned in the last few posts Carole was having problems with the pregancy. Leanna was not due till Feb 1st 2011. She was doing okay in her oven but was causing her mummy some serious problems. Carole was in the hospital every other day for hours at a time. It seems its very rare and most doctors in there careers never see this but for some reason Leanna was doing some bad damage to Caroles liver. It had her in terrible pain and also giving her terrible headaches. They wanted to try and go another week but yeserday at 4.00pm there just wasnt anyway around it anymore and they had to do a C Section on Carole. Little Leanna Elizabeth Powell is doing wonderful. She is 5lb 1oz and although in the NICU she is doing great and a great size for being born at just 34 weeks. Although she has a breathing tube and feeding tube she is still doing wonderful and we are thilled to meet our new Grandbaby. Although we would have loved her to have stayed in the oven for another month it was nice for my Dad to meet her before he leaves tomorrow. Here are a couple of pictures i took of her last night in the NICU. Sadly Carole wasnt able to see her until today as it was all very rough on her and i cant imgine how hard that was for her not to have her baby with her. So we are staying away from the hospital today until this evening to allow her time to be alone and to bond with her darling little girl. Its going to be crazy at christmas time as Leland was born on Dece 24th two years ago and Leanna was born on Dece 26th. We better start saving up now. lol. We are so grateful to have her here with us and for her to be doing as well as she is. She is just so pretty and these pictures dont do her justice at all.
Lucy with Leland in Caroles room. We had to go over to there house at 6.00am this morning and he was just a dream all day. He loves Lucy and she kept him busy all day long.
