Update On Mum

Well today we got the news we had been waiting for, it was not what we wanted to hear sadly. I had gone into work late today as we had a parent meeting with P Hicks at the school over the recent problems with state titles. Ralph was trying to set up my cell phone so that when i called the home number from it, it would call my mums line. But seems like it dont work with international calls. Anyway Lucy went home today with stomach flu so i asked her to call my mum for me as i cant call from work. (all you people that can take for granted just picking up the phone and calling your parents, always count your blessings that you can). Lucy then called me sobbing her heart out to tell me that her test was positive and she did have lung cancer. I drove home so i could call my mum (thank goodness for a wonderful boss who put up with my crazy day today). Of course i cried all the way home as i really couldnt tell much what lucy was telling me as she was so upset. I called my mum and she was very very upbeat and postive and was happy with the cause of action that the doctors had presented her with. Yes she has lung cancer BUT the doctor thinks she has a great chance at beating this because she has always taken care of herself and worked out everyday since i was a little girl, (even in the days when people didnt work out, lol, she was one of the early pioneers of workout) she is in fact fitter then most people more then half her age, myself inc. He is getting her into the top hospital for this condition in knightsbridge London (no easy feat with the national health system over there). He thinks shed be having the tumor removed in around two weeks, at the same time they will be doing a lymphadenectomy (lymph nodes removal) to see if its spread in there. If it has then she will have to have chemotheraphy after the surgery. He said it hasnt at this time spread out of her lung into her chest and hasnt in the past month or so got bigger. So that is a big plus to hang onto. She feels very condifent with her oncology team and oncologist and is ready for a fight to beat this. The hardest part is the fact that the hospital is properly over two hours away and its a long way for my dad to go visit her every day, it means a lot of buses and trains but he is going to stay with my brother which is a little closer so it wont be so hard. Also i am happy about that as he will have the support of steve and ann and not be alone in an empty house worrying about her. She has been very touched by everyones love and support and is very touched that all three of my girls (without us knowing or even talking to each other and knowing each other was doing the same, they all live in different places) emailing her and telling her how much they loved her and were praying for her. She was very touched by that. Lucy has even decided to do a solo deciated to her this upcomming year to her fave singer celion dion, the song she has chosen is
A New Day. That really touched her a lot. They have there flight booked and are still planning on comming out this christmas to see us. It will be wonderful to have our family to spend christmas with. Anyway thats the news, its not what we wanted but kinda what we expected. We are positive all will go well and she will make a full recovery.

  2. Hey I've heard of a super amazing diet called the alkaline diet and there have been several cases of people going on this diet and having their cancer disappear. I mean its worth a shot. Its not a gimick or anything, I actually heard about it from Phil who knew the son of the guy that discovered it (Robert O. Young) and I guess a bunch of people Phil knew that were on it had their eyesight improve because of it. I really want to do it, but its not super easy...I think if I was on my death bed I would be a lot more motivated. Also, if you've ever heard of Tony Robbins (if you haven't, look him up. He is a motivational speaker that is nothing like any of the other ones I've ever heard. He's amazing and he has helped TONS of famous people and world leaders) he is actually on the diet and talks about it a lot in his seminars and talks. Anyway, its worth a shot. All it is really is eating more foods that are more alkaline rather than acidic. Those foods are mostly green vegetables, and fruit. Its really cool. Anyway good luck!
