Day Five In Hawaii-Monday

Today we decided to go climb Diamond Head again. For those that might have read my Hawaii Diamond Head post in Jan 2012 you will know that I may it to the top but then was too scared to come out of the bunker. I had a major stress attack on way up there. I never let myself get defeated twice. I might not be able to do something right the first time, but second try I do. (same with The Rock in NY).Because its been a very windy trip and im sick of every picture having messy hair we took a couple on the deck of our cottage before we headed out for the day. I figured I needed a couple of pictures with half way decent hair in them. lol. I love that cottage and the view.Thanks again Aaron for getting that for us. You have to have someone in the military to get them for you as there right on base. Anyway we went to the Pali lookout on the way to Diamond Head but that was on the stormy part of the island so we couldn't see quite the view we wanted, but it was still cool. Diamond Head was amazing and im so happy I tried it a second time and wasn't stressed at all this time. I have a fear of heights and last time I felt like I was being pulled over the side. I got to the top sobbing but wouldn't come out to see the best part. lol. This time I did and I would certainly do it again. Its a must for anyone that's in Hawaii. The views are amazing. Well just one more day to report on. Almost done.

 This is the cottage part of the base for families of military. You can see another cottage up there on the cliffs. They had quite a few of them but they wasn't close enough to each other to be a pain. It was very private.

 This was walking to the tunnel to get to diamond head. Its quite a walk just to get in to it before you start the hike.

 Half way up Diamond Head. Yes my dad did it too. What a feat for a 75 year old with knee problems.

 This is one of many beaches we stopped to check out. Hawaii just has the most amazing beaches. And wonderful hikes. So you have the best of both worlds.

 Almost at the top of Diamond Head. It was such a hot day but worth the hike. You can see Cory already at the top in the black shirt looking down at us.

 Yup at the top!!!! So proud of myself this time. lol.
