Lee And Caroles House
Lee and Carole have brought there first house. I have not posted it earlier as i wanted everyone to be able to see it on her blog first. But we are really thilled for them and excited they are getting that first house. It has six bedrooms and the downstairs is finished and has a walk out basement with a kitchen and everything down there (as well as upstairs of course) so could be used as a little apt or something if ever they wanted too. Or somewhere to send Lee maybe!!!!!!!!!!! We have not seen the inside yet but are excited to do so once they close on it which hopefully will be by the end of the month. But its so exciting for them and we are thilled they have worked hard to get where they are today. Its a lot harder for kids to get a home then when i first got mine years ago. With my first home i was only 17 when i was under contract for my first home. Sounds crazy i know but back then everyone was doing it and it wasnt though to be anything special cause we were. The greater london council was doing a program with 100 per cent house loans to help new young couples getting married into a home. So for us it worked. We found a house in Stratford East London (in fact 5 mins from where the opening of the olympics will be next month) and brought it. They had to hold off signing the papers for a month as i was still 17 and had to be 18 in order to sign lol. It was like ten months before we got married when we closed so we spent the year buying furniture for it and so when we did get married we were able to move into a home that had all new stuff. Pretty spoiled i know. lol. But it was empty for all those months tho it was only ten mins from my parents where i was living so was able to check on it everyday. Now the house is worth seven times more then what we paid for it back then. It would have been paid off years ago, lol. Should have held onto it i guess. lol. Having the olympics down the street has really helped that area. Live and Learn! But we only kept it for five years and then sold it and moved out into essex and got a much better house in a then better area. And then of course a year or so after that i divorced him. lol. Tho best thing i did. When Ralph and i got married we started life out in a one bedroom apt in murray with just a bed that i think was at least 50 years old and a sofa even worse then the bed. lol. Thats all we had. Oh and a 9in black and white tv. lol. But guess where i was the happiest? Yup! You got it. It took us a long time to get a home as we had thousands and thousands of dollors worth of court fees getting the boys from england to utah. So we never had much, just each other and our kids. But that was certainly all we wanted. Then when we did finally get a house we had to give it up six years later due to Cory having to have open heart surgery and start over again. lol. Things were sure a stuggle when i look back but its what has made our marriage as strong as it is.We have been though so much that nothing can or will ever shake us. Of that i know. But it helped us learn what was important to us. But getting back to Lee and Carole. They also did this all themselves. They have no rich parents to help out with down payments or such like some kids have. They did it all themselves and we are so proud of them. It makes it so much more sweet too when you do it yourself too as you do treasure it more. But we know how hard they have worked and saved to get where they are today and we are so happy for them and thilled that they get to buy and move into there awesome home. Congrats Guys! Enjoy! You deserve it. Love ya.
