We had Corys HS Graduation on Thursday. Yes Finally! We had held him back a year in kindergarden due to an Aug birthday so hes almost 19 and it seemed to take forever for him to finish school. lol. But we had a really great day. A great graduation at UVU and then a yummy lunch at Cheesecake Factory. Then we went and brought him his graduation pressie which was a gun!!!!!!!!!!!!! But we are so proud of him and the wonderful young man he has become. His girlfriend Dani is happy he is graduated now. She is 6 months older then he is and graduated last year and they have been dating a year now so shes happy hes finished school also. Corys future plans? Who knows. He wanted to join the miltary but may not be able too due to his health issues. Hes the one with the deformed chest wall and has had open heart surgery and lung surgery, and also has the other lung not where it should be. So miltary might be out. Mission? Hes still trying to decide. Its something we as parents have always let out kids decide for themselves. Our older two sons went when they were 20 but they went cause they wanted too. Not because we pushed them out the door. I hear everyday how he should have his papers turned in already as you can do it before there 19 so there all ready to go the second they do turn 19!!! Yeah people i know thats how you all do it. I dont!!!!!!! I see 18 year olds and there mommys in my doc office every day being pushed to get that paperwork done so they can be out the door at 19. I get it!!! If and when Cory goes on a misson. It will be because he wants to be doing it a hundred per cent. And he wont be having his mommy at his doc app with him. There adults for heaven sakes. So future plans could involve miltary or mission, or both, or none. I will be sure to post his life on my blog for all to see. But again we are so proud of him on his special graduation day. All our kids have WALKED at graduation. Something im very proud of as i look around and know thats not always the case with every family so we are proud of that. He has worked so hard to be where he is and it was a day of celebration. WAY TO GO CORY
We are so proud of you. We know you have a great life ahead of you and whatever your future life holds and whatever you choose to do with your future we will be your cheering squad and be backing you a hundred per cent.
Love ya.
