Homecoming Parade/Game

We had a really nice overnight trip to St George this weekend. It was Homecoming and its a much bigger thing at colleges we found then at high school. We were sad that Bingham had theres the same weekend as we were invited to the Minerettes tailgate party for alumi girls and parents but couldnt go as we had to go to Lucys college Homecomming also. Too bad it was all the same weekend. But anyway we drove down friday night and didnt get there till late as we had to wait for Cory to do his last Home/Hospital thing with his teacher from Riverton. So we didnt get down there till late. We woke up saturday morning and headed out to the Homecoming parade. I must admit im not one for parades, the only other one ive been too was when Hayley was on Bingham Band and she used to do them. But i was very impressed with this one. You didnt have to line up till 20 mins before to get a good spot and there was tons of candy being thrown out for the kids. Every float was throwing out goods and candy, all expect one which was a mexican culture float and that was one asking for donations. lol. Sorry but we had to laugh at that!!!!!! lol. Lucy had wanted to be on the float with her EMT group as that would have given her extra credits but of course she was expected to do the Rebelettes one. To rub things in more they had made sure the Rebelettes followed the EMT in the line. lol. Poor Lucy!!!! But it was over an hour long and a very good parade. They had one car that had the oldest person ever to graduate Dixie college and she was 102!!!! But she looked great and was waving around and looked 30 years younger. After the parade we met up with Lucy and we went to lunch. We had to eat fast as she had to be back for the homecoming game which was at 1.00pm. Weve glad the games are not at 7.00pm anymore, it was too hot for them to be at 1.00pm until now. But that said i still got burnt yeserday!!! Who gets burnt in Oct???? We arrived at the game and decided to sit with the Rebelettes in the student section rather then the parents section this time, (tho that has proper seats in) but decided for once weve sit with Lucy. It had a grand opening and even had a skydiver come in that flew around the field a few times with a huge american flag. Very good opening. The game was normal for someone like me that totally hates football (only watch the games as lucys in them). At half time the girls came out and 20 very fancy harleys arrived to sit in a line and watch the girls do there homecoming routine. The girls did great of course and then at the end the girls all run to the bikers, all jumped on and the bikers did two laps with the girls around the field to the song about Hwys and all night long, LOL, i have no idea what the songs called. Its on facebook for anyone that wants to see the videos. Maybe ive try and put it on here also. But the girls loved it and of course out of all the girls Lucy was the only one that waved while they were doing laps!!! lol. After the game we took Lucy to store to get her some supplies and then went back to her apt for awhile to hang out and rest. Then we came home. It was a really nice weekend break.
