Memorial Day Fun and Memorys of Mum

We had a really wonderful Memorial weekend with our kids and grandbaby. Heather wasnt able to be with us as shes in Az and Hayley is in Hawaii, but the rest of our kids and there families came. Because i am unable to decorate my Mums grave (for one thing she dont have a grave, her ashes are in an urn at my dads home) we decided to write msgs on balloons and let them off. Ive let the rest of the pictures tell the story of our wonderful memorial day with our loved ones.
Above two pictures are of the balloons.

This was the balloons going up into the sky. Carole also added a couple for her grandparents whos graves are in oklahoma City (which is where shes from). It was a great new tradition that we plan on doing every memorial day from now on.

Had a few tears when i called my dad for his msg. He pretty much said that there just are no words for how much he loves and misses her, so we wrote that for him. On the back it says that her pictures are everywhere so shes still watching him and keeping her eye on him.

Getting ready to do the balloons.

Lucy with her balloon.

Carole doing her balloons for her grandparents and Leland keeping an eye on the balloons for us.

Cory doing his, we also called Heather and Hayley and got there msgs to write on and also we did one from my brother and his family in england.

A lavender plant i brought to plant for my mum. When i got it home i noticed the name of it was Angel Face. So i certainly brought the right one. I had wanted two others but something kept making me go back to this one, it wasnt as fancy as the others but i couldnt not buy this one.

Our doggie Togo.

Throw of the day from Leland during the Volly ball game we had.

Ralph cooking us yummy foood.

Emmalee who is due in a week (we had her play hoping she would go into labor, lol).

Jay (hubby of Emmalee) and Leland (son of Lee and Carole). He couldnt understand why Uncle Jay wouldnt give him the ball.
We fixed that problem by giving Leland his own ball. He really though he was part of the volly ball game. He would run and throw the ball at people why they were playing and try and throw his over the net. The hardest part was trying not to knock him over.
Leland tucking into his corn on the cob.

This little chair used to be Heather and Hayleys its about twenty years old. Now Leland has it.

Hmm is Lucy doing a half time DANCE!!!!

And off he goes running to throw the ball over the net!!

So that was our day. It really was a great day for the Powell Clan.
