Yup!!!! Even More Hospital

Adding on from last post of his first two hospital visits. He was changed after two weeks from a med to another med. He wasn't happy as he liked that med and he felt great on it. But it was slowing down his heart rate too much. He has been wearing a heart moniter since nove 4th and they can read it when needed. Anyway the new meds put him back right where he was before. Over the weekend he felt like crap. He was sweaty and said his heart was just beating out of his chest. I tried many times to get him to go to the ER in murray where the heart and lung center is but he wanted to wait till Monday of course and call his doctor. He called his doctor and went in Monday at ten am. His moniter show that his heart had in fact stopped for eight seconds on sunday while he was sleeping. How scary is that? They admitted him to the hospital right away of course. He was suppose to stay in and try and new med that required him staying in till Friday or Saturday. But his heart rate was all over the place again and kept them running on Monday. They put paddles back on him and put the crash cart next to his bed as the nurse said she was concered he would code. His heart stopped at one point for six seconds, it was so scary to see. He was getting very dizzy and light headed. Lucy drove down for st George. She funny enough is a CNA on a cardio ward where he was for the same company but one of there other hospitals. She was a lot of help as she was able to explain everything to us what was doing what and what it all means etc. It was hard for her not to get involved of course. lol. Moreso if the cna was slow getting there, she just wanted to do it. lol. Anyway they decided because his heart kept stopping (it was 138 but then would drop to zero and stop for six seconds at a time) that they would do a pacemaker. They wanted it done that evening as the nurses were concered about if it would become an emergency surgery during night if he coded. But with thanksgiving not enough room on schedule till 8.00am Tuesday. So it was a very busy night for the nurses Monday night. lol. Thanks to Jay, Lee and family and Dan and his mom for coming in that day to support us and lucy, oh and cory, (sorry cory). It was very stressful on Monday. Heather couldn't get out of clinicals and it was killing her and Hayley also whos in Maryland. Tuesday I arrived with cory and lucy and he went and got the pacer placed. It took about two hours. He came back and he was doing great. I was very upset that I couldn't sit and hold his hand after the surgery. The whole month had been so stressful and all I wanted was to sit and hold his hand but his father show up and took over and I just sat in the corner for hours until he left. Raised my already stressed condtion even higher. I couldn't understand how he didn't understand that we needed this time alone. That maybe his wife of 28 years that has gone though the whole freaking month with him of stress would have liked to have sat with him. But whatever!! The day went well care wise. That evening I had to go with Heather and Dan and his mom to meet with the wedding planner and the cake and flower people. Couldn't cancel due to cakes already been made for cake tasting. My mind really wasn't into it but it went well and a lot was sorted out. Lorrie has great decorating ideas (dans mom) and helped sort out the tables for the dinner which I couldn't think too straight about at that time. Thanks to Heather, Lee, Cory, Lucy, Dan and mom for visiting that day. Wednesday lucy and I spent the day till he was discharged. If they had tried the new meds we would have been in till Friday at least, (if they worked) but luckily Ralph talked them into putting him back on the first meds. The pacer stops his heart going low and the meds will stop it going high. I wasn't happy that his dad visited him at 7.30am that morning waking him up. Who visits people that early in a hospital when people need there rest after surgery anyway. Guess that's why visiting hours in some hospitals are needed maybe, but I never would that early. Anyway We did get to come home that day and we were very happy to be home. Very impressed yet again with the care that the heart and lung center give. After Corys two week stay there and Ralphs two visits there we hope never to be there again but its nice to have such a good hospital close by. Thanks so much for those of you that did do what you could this week to ease my stress in this hard situation. And thanks to those of you that put his needs and mine first when planning visits. Heather is hosting thanksgiving and all the kids are helping out. Carole took over all my food assignements so I didn't need to have any extra stress then I already had. Thank you so much Carole and everyone else for all you have done this week to ease my stress. Thanks Lucy and Cory for driving me around and getting me where I need to go. (and heather for getting me to wedding meeting). I don't drive freeways anymore as my eyes are not as good as they used to be on roads and I have a phobia about freeways anyway. When I used to visit cory I would go down redwood to hospital to 5300 south. It took forever so nice to have people making sure I got where I needed to be in good time. Thanks to my boss for giving me more time off work and for still paying me and it not coming out of my vacation time off, and for also trying to do my job for me which waits for me till I get back. Thanks to all my Os friends around USA and Uk who have kept me sane by there msgs and texts this week and to my friend Ashley and everyone else who has helped this hard time easier. Love you all. Hopefully he will inprove and we can still leave for Branson next Thursday to meet Ashley and other friends there. We will be there for three days and then onto Washington Dc for four days to visit Hayley and family. Everything is paid for so keep fingers crossed everyone for us, for no more problems.  Heres some pictures and some funny stuff the kids did to make me laugh this week.

Love this picture above. Thanks everyone. Love you.
