YOUR BELIEFS DONT MAKE YOU A BETTER PERSON, YOUR BEHAVIOR DOES!
I have to stay that i really love this quote. Living here in this state there are so many people that really do believe its the other way around. Im not saying everyone here in this state feel that way but we all have been subject to those that do right? Yup i know we all have. lol. I came from a place that no one cared about what church you attended or if you attended at all for that matter. I remember one of the first things i noticed when i moved here was Wow! People really do care and judge you by what church you belong too and how active you are in it. Again there are many many wonderful people that are not that way, im just talking about the few that we all have met at least once. I was told in the first few months of living here from a sister in law that she felt that in the pre life she had to have been a better spirit then me, i asked her why that was. Her answer was that she had been choosen to be born here in this state and i hadnt. I was a little upset by that but hubs made it better when he said that maybe it was the other way around, that maybe i in fact was the better spirit, that i was strong enough not to have to be born here, that i was trusted to be born somewhere else and find my way here. lol. It made me feel better but not something any of us will ever know for sure which way it was, lol. But when i saw this quote it really does go well here in this state for those few that drive us all crazy once in awhile. Going to church every sunday and having a belief does not make you a better person. It really is your behavior 24/7 that makes you the person you are. Not where you spend a few hours a week. Im sure when little remarks are made to people stuggling to find there way in a new place and a new church and a whole new way of life are in fact not really counted too well in your favor, lol. Again not all are that way. But yes feeling smug that your better then someone because of where your were born, or looking down on neighbours who might not attend the same church as you, or not letting your kids play with there child because he dont attend church, all are not going to get you brownie points. A good friend of mine told me 15 years ago that she left the church because so many (again not all) failed to follow the most basic rule. Love thy Neighbour! She said that she felt they only loved thy neighbour if the neighbour shared the same views and went to the same chuch as them. She said she had spent a lifetime watching her kids cry when there kids were told not to play with them because she got divorced and drifted away from the church and wasnt very active after her divorce. So she left, she said when they decided to love all thy neighbours she would go back. Shes still waiting! I think we all should take note of this quote and remember it when we are in our everyday lifes. The next time we might walk by someone who we dont see at church or who was not the choosen spirit to have been born here in this wonderful state! Or the next time our child wants to play with freddie over the road, but omg freddie dont go to church, so what, hes still a child of god and hes still someone that needs a friend and maybe your child is just the example he needs or maybe hes the example they need, (it can work that way too). Your child is not too good for them, thats just in your head!!!!! Get out of your box and get to know those people that you think are not like you. If you dont you will just push people away and your lose relationships that you may just have enjoyed having. You might be just amazed at how awesome and wonderful they really are. And remember everyday in your life.
YOUR BELIEFS DONT MAKE YOU A BETTER PERSON, YOUR BEHAVIOR DOES!
For those wonderful people that already do live there life this way, this was not for you.
