Every year the minerettes have a formal dance. This year it was at La Caile. Its the girls, there dates and the coaches and there hubbys. The last two years weve rented a dress for Lucy, i told her as its her last year we would buy one. When shopping last saturday she had her heart set on a red dress. We were both going though the red dresses when at the same time we stopped and looked at a bunch of dresses quite a way away from us. Our eyes at the same time fell on this purple dress. We both had tears in our eyes as we knew had Nanny been with us this is the dress she would have wanted Lucy to try on. Its her fave color. I know somehow she was with us pushing us towards this dress. Lucy tried it on and of course it was a hit. Two years ago at her first minerette formal Nanny was out here visiting us for Jay and Emmalees wedding. Nanny lend Lucy an antique neckless and earrings that she had gotton when she retired work. It was nannys pride and joy. Last month my father gave me my mothers jewelry the set Lucy had worn before was part of it. Lucy asked if there was anyway she could have it as it had special meaning to her as it was something her Nanny had lent her for her first ever minerette formal. Of course i said Yes. Lucy is wearing the set with this dress this evening. She looked like a princess tonight when she left. Nanny would have been so proud of her.
