It always amazes me the talent she has but finally a great artist gets noticed (before there dead!!). Emmalees above picture that she painted while in Africa a few years ago of a very important person there won an award at The 8th International Art Competition at the conference center last night. Of course we were there to honor and support her. There was an open house afterwards where emmalee stood by her picture to answer questions from people comming and going. It was very busy and we didnt get to talk to her much. But it was such a thill to see her honored in that way. Most of the other winners were people out of the united states and a lot older then her so its great she won such an award as young as she is. The church has purchased her picture and it will be on display at the conference center, grand attium foyer for anyone that would like to go and see it. The one thing she had added to the picture since it was last on display at byu is the name powell under her name.
Way to go Emmalee, weve so proud of you.
